Where to get build codes?
Does anyone know where or how I can get the build codes for my truck? Just got a 99 f250 and theres no code tags on it anywhere. Door jams, glovebox, nothing.
I'm trying to find out if it has a snow plow package or what springs, and I got nothing to go on. Can I take the vin to a dealer and get the codes or something??

I got my build sheet from Ford Customer Service Division. The letter I received does not give the telephone number. I called and gave them my VIN and about three weeks later I got the sheet. Look in any literature you have for Customer Service and give them a call. Here is a road side number, maybe they can transfer your call: 1-800-241-3673

As rmosso1 mentioned, you can get a vehicle build sheet by contacting the Ford Customer Relationship Center via e-mail or phone.

If e-mailing, be sure to include contact info (name, address, phone, e-mail) and the VIN number with the request for your build sheet...
The build sheet will tell you if the truck is equipped with the snow plow package, but will not tell you what the spring rating is. If you can find a part number on one of the front springs, I am sure that one of us here can decipher it and tell you what springs you have...
