Can u put the transfer case in 4x4Low and not lock the hubs for extra low gears or does it wreck the 4x4 set up caue the owners manual says to always lock the hubs when i 4x4 High or low
If u don't lock the hubs there is no 4x4. The axles will just spin in the hubs without being engaged. It won't hurt anything but you are still only putting power to 2 wheels.
Yes you can do this, but be very careful because there is a lot of power being put to those rear wheels. I use it to backup my snowmobile and boat trailers w/o burning the clutch. I can go a lot slower and have a lot more control. I don't have to touch the gas when i let out the clutch so I can have my foot on the brake and be able to inch myself backwards which can be difficult in a manual truck.
