I have a 292 thats bored .40 over new internals rebuilt heads, the whole motor is solid. i have maybe 100 miles on it im on my second isky cam and on top of that i have replace all of the soild lifters twice i get like 50 miles and then they break. I have evan tried a different set of heads on it.
im not beating on it either. I put a small block and a aod in it because that only took a weekend!!!!
but i wanna keep this engine b/c i have too much money in it.
First off there are alot of junk lifters on the market today, did you use GM EOS additive for cam break in. Did you run it at 2,000 rpms for 20 minuites for cam break in? Are they scoring in the lifter bores? Or is the lifter face wearing rapidly? I dont have an exact answer for you.
I am curious what source you used for the lifter purchase. Was it one of the big ebay stores? All of his lifters come from overseas.
Another thing. You mentioned springs. If you are running the Isky 260 degree cam, according to the experts over on the other site the recommended spring pressures that ISKy gives are excessively high, and is the same for the whole line of Y-block Isky cams, mild to wild.
