Door Locks cycling uncommanded
Any one know what wire has the signal from the key pad or alarm? What does the gen module look like? Does it control the lock key pad also?
Thanks
Bill

>The door locks are driven by one fuse going to multiple door lock relays. These relays are located way up behind the instrument panel on the passenger side. There is a driver's door unlock relay, and a all unlock relay and a all lock relay.
The relays are controlled by the RAP (remote anti-theft personality module). The RAP module is located high up on the driver's behind the instrument panel.
The jist I get from the whole setup is the RAP takes the radio signals and locks or unlocks the doors with the relays. Also after the relays are the manual lock unlock buttons. They do not use the relays.
Along with this the RAP communicates with the GEM, to turn the interior lights on when the doors are locked or unlocked. The GEM also tells the RAP when one of the doors are "ajar". So the GEM takes the door switch input and controls the interior lights among other things, but the RAP controls the locks.

I have seen that weird smiley mess in someone's post before, but I don't know what's causing it, unless you are using something else to type your post and then pasting it onto this board?
I need help from you all , here is my question I would like to hook up a switch outside the truck ( like a hide a key ) that will trigger the doors to unlock if pushed. the reason is I did a key lock delete on the door being they now have the same door handle as the back door wit no key , so unless someone breaks the glass there not getting in , if they pop open the side door handle the rod that the key would turn is gone. anyway so now i have to rely on my key fob and if i loose it for the battery goes dead i screwed so i want to hide a button i can oust , and i need to know were and what color the wire is that will send power to the door unlock relay ?
thanks

, i need a some on e who can tell me what exactly could be wrong with my truck... also dont no if its relivent but sometimes my front drivers side window and rear passengers side window will go down but not go back up... i noticed that my locks tend to cycle wen i hit bumps. any help would be great, im new to the site and expect to use it lots seeing how there is lots of good information..
Your truck has a Controller Area Network buss, so it's going to act a little different than the typical analog power switches. None of the windows or lock may work if you disconnect the main switch, so I'd advise testing them after unplugging the switch.
