The dealer reset the mpg display. You can reset it from the dash control.
The mpg gauge slowly comes back up to normal as you drive. I had my reflash done and it reset my mpg to 0 mpg and as I drove it the mileage slowly comes back up to normal.

How do you reset the MPG display? I do not remember reading that in the owners manual.

Hit the reset button while the MPG display is being shown.

Look to the right of the instrument cluster there are three buttons. Reset, setup and info. Press the top reset button and the mileage goes to zero when parked. It slowly comes back up as you drive.

I guess I worded it wrong. I knew that you press the reset button. I thought maybe there was something else in one of the menus that (re calibrated) the MPG.

I'm betting the performance is because of the DPF being bad. I bet the DPF is starting to get plugged up now.

The truck is in for service right now on an oil leak and to look at the DPF being the tail pipes are black. As of right now it sounds like they are trying to tell me the tail pipes being black is normal. Will someone please post me a link or give me some kind of explanation on this exact issue. I dont want the truck leaving the dealer with out the DPF being replaced.

thats what the service advisor told me when i first brought the truck to the dealership. he too said that black soot is normal. obviously some of these guys have no idea what they're talking about. ask to speek to a technician. after having one look at mine he determined that the dpf was cracked and put a new one on order. dropped off my truck this morning to get the new one put in. good luck...
