Perdue is quite abit west and a little south, that would be a ways to go for oil.

Yep just south, and a little bit west of langham.

The woman got a great permanent job with the saskatoon public school division, so we might be looking at buying an acreage closer to the city now though, not looking forward to that.

The closer to Saskatoon then the more $$$ it will cost unless you find a real deal!
Talk to Paso1/Paul, his son just bought an acreage west of the now closed Saskatoon Auction Market.

doing the math would probably result in it being cheaper, howbeit less convenient, to live where you are and commute every day.

Your 100 percent right sherm, it is cheaper to keep a commuter car like the civic and rack up the miles on it and commute.

However, the woman would like to get a nicer vehicle (currently checking out a diesel jeep grand cherokee, and some ford suv's) and not have to drive the "short" 30 minute drive to get to the other side of the city to her school.

The cheapest acreage we found that would have everything we would like in it was half a million dollars.

Forget that! Theres no way im spending half a million on a place to live!

be hard to find one much less than that in close proximity to the city. i know even here there's a couple for the 4-6 hundred thousand dollar range. i don't understand why someone would buy something that they'd never own in their lifetime.

Out my way there`s a nice 10 acre parcel with a spacious house built in the later 80`s, a single garage beside the house and a three car shop. From what I`ve herad it well below the half mil, rumor has it around the $380,000 mark? It`s only about 6 minutes east of Saskatoon on pavement. It`s been well kept up and I think it would be a great buy for someone.

See for us the problem isnt being able to afford one, between me and the woman we make plenty of money. The whole problem is I dont want to blow that much money on a damn acreage. Theres more to life then having payments till your 50!

Morris for 380 that might be worth taking a look at. 10 acres really isnt enough room for me, not nearly enough peace and quiet, but i gotta meet in the middle somewhere!

No solid plans yet though.

Well yeah I know for a lot of people the problem is not being able to afford one is just exactly what you said who wants to pay that unless they are filthy rich and got the cash or can pay it off in no time flat

You got er. I would rather use my hard earned cash to make double/triple payments and save in interest in the long run.
