What do you guys think of the Shell brand motor oil?
It is .88 cents a quart at Adavance Auto parts. They told me that Shell is their new house brand. It seems to be very high quality and made by the same people as Havoline. I am using it right now in a high mileage Honda civic and it is performing well as far as I can see. According to the bottle and shells website it meets all the same requirements as the other oils on the market(API SL and GF-3).
I will give a penny for your thoughts on Shell oil(if you will extend me a small credit line)
I have used it. It is a good oil. It is not made by Havoline, though. I wish it were that cheap in MN. I only know of one local bumper to bumper that carries it for around $1.70.
Stab may be reffering to Equilon, a partnership between Shell and Texaco.

I've used several types of Shell lubricants over the years with no complaint.
Add me to the list...2000 F150 4.2L w/ 54,000 miles. Probably 90% with Formula Shell 10W30. I buy at the same price from Advance also. Funny, I sort of figured Shell "did" their own oil. Shell is a major player in the worldwide market and figured Shell Lubricants was responsible for Shell Oil. I'll do some research and see what comes up....I see their signage at race events from all over the world. I figure they don't put their name on junk. Regardless, I am happy with my experience with the oil and plan to keep on using it.

I ASSumed that Shell made Havoline and not the other way around. It seems that with Texaco and Shell being partners that the logical choice would be to refine one formula and sell it under both labels. Anyway unless something happens I think I'll keep using Shell. I just like to get as much info on possible when using something new.
