My 99 extra cab has a bench seat in the front. The passenger side doesn't stay latched. The result is you're driving along and get twisted because the passenger side of the seat is trying to beat you to your destination. It will "hook" into place for a while, but you have to play with it to make it happen and if someone sits on the passenger side and you hit a bump or hit the brakes/gas hard it pops loose again. I hate bench seats anyway. How hard would it be to put the captain chairs with console in from a wrecked 97-99 Ford truck? Would I have to do a lot of mods, or would they bolt right in?

The Ford seats would probably bolt right in. With that said,
you can get a really nice aftermarket seat for about $600 to $1000. Cloth for the lower amount, and leather for the latter.
Many aftermarkets come with better side bolsters and lumbar supports than the factory models. I have seen(and plan to buy someday) a really nice leather seat made by Wieland. It was like two leather sport Mustang buckets, with a center console. Very nice!! Good luck deciding,,,,98

Thanks for the info. I hadn't even thought of aftermarket seats but I will look into it now!

No problem,big red.
I know you want to get rid of it anyway, but check the cable
assembly between the lever and the pass. side latch. There
may be something caught in the cable. That would cause it not to latch correctly. In the meantime,it could cure the annoying jumping twisting feeling......98

That is a good idea, I haven't taken the time to look at it but it could fix it until I get the cash for new seats. Thanks again.
