Can anyone tell me how to remove the CD Changer that is behind the drivers side door. My CD unit stopped playing and only keeps changing CD, but does not play anymore. I've removed the rubber gasket around the CD Changer, but not sure if I have to remove anything else.
I removed the changer unit from my '98 F150. it's not an easy task at all. You must remove the entire rear seat, and ALL of the plastic trim panels that are on the interior body in order to access the mounting bracket bolts. It would be a great time to install aftermarket speakers back there if you're thinking about it-it's the same process to change that driver's rear speaker.

The procedure is in the Ford workshop manual. JL is absolutely right, a lot of work to get to it. By the way, the CD changer is made for Ford by Clarion. I like it a lot better than the new menu drive after market units. All the buttons are right there for instant adjustment, just the way I like it!
