been told the doors are diffrent 61-63 than 64-66. ive seen 63 doors that dont have the curve at the front of the door there straight to the back of the ddor. today i saw a 63 flatbed with the same doors as a 65 with the curve in the conture line in the front. could this truck been miss idintified and its really a 64. i need these doors but dont want to spend the money if there not the same. they will be on sale for $25 a piece on saturday.
The 61 to 63 F series unibody, body 66 uses the slanting 3/4" drop front to back doors.
All 61 to 66 F series Body 81 conventional use the reveal type door that does the dog leg and the parallell body line. (these are the curved doors).
The curved doors do in fact fit a body 66 truck and the body line matches up however they look hokey as the body line does the paralell jog on 2/3rds of the door. While the rest slopes at about 3/4" per 3 feet.
that confused me more. i have a 65 f100 and it has that dog leg in the front. the dorors i seen on the 63 have the same dog leg. im need to know if it has the same dog leg if it will line up. the dofg legs is the only diffrences between the 2 doors right?
I pulled this thread back up because I keep seeing that the doors are different(??????).
This is a 66 door on a 63 uni.
I still don't see what you guys were saying about the doors not matching. I might dig the uni doors out of the scrap pile later and see if I can figure out what you are talking about.
WOW! I think I just figured it out hunting through other peoples photos, they run straight across rather than having the "divit".
I don't know how that got past me but if anyone wanted to know, they fit and line up. Must have been all the beer I was drinking while bolting them on.
I need to make sure and cut that section out of the old doors before I trash them anymore, they have just been a supply of sheet metal for other repairs since I pulled them off.

Geeze! Save those Unibody doors already! Regardless of condition (money in the bank)!
IMHO! And almost any door in decent condition is a steal at 25 bucks!
You cut up unibody doors ??? How bad were they to begin with ???

That truck had a severe frontal impact some time in the past, and was repaired with a set of 65/66 fenders (they weren't in the best shape either). Both doors were squashed toward the bottom from it and both doors showed rust damage. It would be just as easy or easier to cut the section out and make a set set of uni doors out of a good set of standard doors, at least I didn't cut that section up, I am going to remove and store them.
Someone cut a rectangle (2"X10") out of the lower bedside right behind the passenger door for some reason. So my little brother just borrower that metal from the passenger door, I think I also hammered some cab corners out of door metal.
sounds like someone tried to add a toolbox or similar setup behind the RH door...these were common and only offered on the 64-6 stylesides in that design...67 up the toolbox was changed...
As to the doors...The lower sections have been available as patch panels for years...and really cheap given the alternative....
Fenders are generic...all the same 61-6 except 2 differences...61 to mid year 65 had an oval push in rubber hood side bumper..2 per fender...mid year 65 and 66 trucks have a round bumper held on with 1 screw located near the front edge of the fender.
And the 65 and 6 trucks had the fender nameplates on most...
Service replacement fenders from Ford had zero holes for hood bumpers or emblems...
