Cps

Was the CPS issue ever officially labelled as a recall? Iwas driving the new excursion tonight and it stalled twice. It is colder than it has been and its raining. I did a search and some other posts were very similar. It stalled when I stopped and idled I am hoping the cps is the culprit. Where should I get good cps?

Yes there was a recall issued for the F-series, I'm sure the Ex is covered too.

Yes there is a recall, and the new ford part is under $30 now, so it's not a bad idea to pick up a spare. Stay away from the CPS from the auto parts stores. Too many past problems with those.

There's also a problem with the recall CPS. It can cause cylinder contribution failures and/or triggers the SES light, as well as cause the engine to run rougher. There's a TSB out currently for the new CPS, expect yet another revision in the future.
