Head lights

on my 1978 ford f 150 4x4 all the lights work except the headlights. They turn on but they will cut on and off randomly on their own. The other lights stay on but the headlights seem to have a mind of their own. also the front driverside turn signal works every now and then. sometimes it seems that you have to switch the opposite turn siganl then the driverside one to work. The arrow in the cab sometimes wont even light up but the rear turn signal will still work even though the front one wont.

LAST EDITED ON 13-Mar-01 AT 09:00 PM (EST)[p]Jdawwg, I think you have a bad headlight switch. The circuit breaker for headlights is integral with switch. To remove, reach behind dash and push button on top of switch while pulling switch ****. (after disconnecting battery) The turn signal sounds like a bad ground or maybe a loose bulb or corroded socket.
