computer not printing! help!

My computer does not want to print, need help.

The computer was printing out things just fine the day before, go to print stuff out and nothing, the stuff sits in the print que and says its printing but its not.

I tried to print out a test page and nothing came. The printer is not even receiving anything from the comp because when it does, it lights up and comes on by itself.

The printer works fine because I can print from my other comp with no problems.

I have restarted the comp with the usb in and out and with the printer on and off, still no result. I have verified that it is the default printer and that it is online.

I have done nothing to the computer between the times I last printed out and now other than taking it off standby. I am just trying to print straight word documents, nothing fancy or anything.

I have verified the port and yes, the comp sees the port in use, I have tried with the other 2 ports as well.

It has done this before but usually starts working after a restart, it is actually the 2nd day it has been doing this and I have restarted maybe 6 times.

Thank you.

What printer model is it?

Have you deleted everything in the que??? Sometimes one job gets hung and everything else backs up..

May sound stupid, but is there paper in there and is it far enough in to trip the switch?

It is an HP D7100.

Yes, the que is empty and there is paper in it, it worked just fine when I printed with the other computer.

I did all the idiot checks I could think of.

Are there any errors in device manager??

I assume this is connected via USB...

Other PC's print fine?? Is this a shared printer or a stand alone network printer??

Try removing the printer software from the computer and reinstall it.

Alright, got it working. I reloaded everything and it started working just fine again.

Thanks!

I will try to remember the uninstall/reinstall method.

Before you did that did you try shutting down the computer and printer and leaving both of them off for 60 seconds?
