I did it and love it for towing shifting manually. but don't try racing with it locked because it shifts rough.

can you make up your own TC lock up swich or do you have to buy a kit for one? and does locking up the TC improve the tranny life a bit?

Jacob all you need is a toggle switch, connectors, and some wire. Will it improve trans life? Maybe, I don't know for sure.

Here's Guzzle's way.....

Welcome to guzzle's TC Lockup Mod Web Page

Use it wisely. You can't leave it on all the time. Need to remember to unlock it when coming to a stop or you will feel the truck "shake & bake" and stall. Ussually need to unlock it no lower than 20 mph. Great mod for towing when you need to slow the rig down. But tuners like Tony & DP make there custom programs to do the same thing.

Here's another link & way to do it: but you will see the OD on/off light blinking when the PCM tries to unlock th TC and it doesn't.

DONT LEAVE IT LOCKED AT LOW RPMS AND HIT HTE FUEL, youll roast the TC, apparently. the tranny builds more pressure as the rpms go up, so under 1000 is IMHO only for light throttle, and once i hit 1600 i mash it, but between 1000 an 1600 i kinda give it little by lirtttle.

Green led monitors, Red is for manual override.
1st switch is for TC lockup
2nd is for EBPV brake.
The rest are for future plans. like lights etc.

If you lock it below 1300 RPM you have a risk of not enough pressure to hold the clutch. If it slips it isn't going to last a long time.
