I don't know for sure but isn't the KM2 made for 'rock crawaling/off-road' more than street use? I think you want the KM for street use, they should last longer. I have about 30,000 on mine, rotating every oil change.
I just got new BFG KM2s a couple of weeks ago. I am very impressed, they grab good and clean out well. The tread is very agressive. So far I have 300+ miles on them. I think they accent my truck well to. Mine are 285/75/16. I plan on buying them next time too, but first we'll see how long they last. I do drive 10+ miles a day on gravel, which is hard on any tire.
How is the road noise with the KM2? I don't want Toyo MTs because EVERYBODY has them, plus I'm not crazy about their side-armor design. Right now I'm torn between the KM2 and Mickey Thompson MTZ, leaning towards the MTZ which looks slightly more road friendly.
The road noise if very minimal for a mud tire with the tread it has. They ride very good in my opinion. Ride just as good as the 285 all terrains they replaced. Have 3k miles on mine and love them
Wow, your truck looks rugged-tough with those. How do they do on the street? Any vibration a highway speeds? Thanks.
Thanks, They are a lot quieter than they look. There is also a very slight vibration at higher speeds, but you have to really be paying attention to notice it. I have a friend that has MTZ and they ride a little quieter, however, I don't think they are as aggressive as the KM2 s are. I highly recommend these tires to anyone, but if you have these and get stuck with them (hard to do) you'd better have a tractor ready to pull you out, as nobody else will be able to get to you!
