Just tried to upload pic...it is either a pic of my buggy/goosneck setup, or the family having fun in the shearing shed, lets see what happens?
Aussie Jones.....Also look under your member name next to your supporter tag....You just jumped to 'Junior User' from 'New' user when you hit 50 posts.....Congrats.......
(At least I THINK 50 is the threshold.....not 25?).....
I think you go to 'Senior User' when you hit 100 posts.....Unless you decide to personalize the tag to something stupid like 'Eco Freak'......
<O Question: Aren't you guys doing the very thing that you're belittling? Or complaining about? What 'help' or 'technical assistance' was given to deserve the reps given here? <O Just wondering. <O p.s. I could give a damn why people give or receive reps.....That's their own personal business. There's too many damned reasons WHY people give them, that to try to 'codify' a set of rules for giving them out would be an exercise in futility.
<O</O <O Wow. You just impressed the hell out of me and said the same thing I have been thinking since I first started reading this thread. <O</O <O You all who quaff at how reps are given and received and think they are handed out like candy: maybe you should start a forum where people have to pass a technical exam before they can join, because that's essentially what you're asking. I am not the most technically able person on this forum..actually, far from it. I am here to learn. I post on the OT threads because It's fun to get to know the members on this board. The rest of the time, I am reading threads and learning. <O Many times, It's not my place to post technical advice. A few things I have first-hand knowledge of, but most things I do not. Sometimes I can answer a question, many times I cannot....and by that logic, I would not have ANY rep points, and the only people that had any would be the most knowledgeable. Additionally, as others have claimed, a few times I have posted technical advice and was correct on my analysis, but was never granted reps for that post. Do I care? No! Why would I? If worrying about rep points was all I had to worry about, I'd consider myself a lucky person.
There are many people on here who really help out a lot and really know their stuff, who don't have as many green boxes as they should. If we learn anything from this particular thread, it's that we should be repping those people more often, not criticizing those who do receive reps, for whatever the reason.
Ok. Done now. Aussie, I agree with Barry, we need more pictures. <O
Seeing how as this thread is on a foolish subject in the first place I may as well ask a foolish question that's been bugging me ever since I first noticed the little green chiclets. How come the more ya pile up of them they begin to get lighter in color?
After 5 Dark Greens @ 100pts each, the Lt Greens are 200pts each.
Now that thats answered, how do the post counts relate to the user level (such as new, junior, senior, etc)? I've seen it asked before but nobody really knows the answer.
