Liquid Electrical Tape

I saw some liquid electrical tape at CAP, it appears to be sorta like rubbewr cement or something, has any one ever used this for their wiring? Is it better or worse than shrink tubing?
Thanks,
Chuck

Depends on what you are using it for. From my experiences with it, it is excellant to seal rear of connectors and switches. However for wire repairs it is a little messy and the surface dries fairly quickly making it somewhat hard to spread out to an even coat. It also "wicks" into breaks in the wire, and coats individual wire strands reducing conductivity paths.
Hope this helps.

Liquid Electrical Tape

that was my concern, they show it on wire to wire connection, but looks sloppy, plus I was concerned with pathway interference,
thanks for the info dude.

Liquid Electrical Tape

This stuff seems great for waterproofing. I have an electrically-powered swimming pool cleaner - it has two 24V motors within it to make it crawl along the bottom as well as to pump water through an on-board filter. Had one of the wires break internally within the jacketed cable that runs down into the water. For some reason, the wire wouldn't solder, so I used a splice crimp and coated the joint with the liquid electrical tape. Yes, it can get messy, but I brushed on several coats, allowing it to cure between applications (a few minutes), and that sucker has been in my pool and goobling up crud off the bottom without any trouble. Very neat stuff! Just brush it on lightly, so it doesn't drool off the wiring. Several coats later, don't look back.
