Random Coolant Leak...Good time to replace Support?
When I got home, I heard a dripping, sure enough my coolant was flooding out of my radiator. I am annoyed because this radiator is no more than year and a half old, so I will be getting a free one from the shop that put it in, but heres my question guys. I figured I would get the new raditor from them, but I been wanting to replace the radiator support on this truck, its pretty rusted through, and I figured there couldnt be a better time to attack this job while the radiator is out right? I need some guidance tho, what type of thing need to be removed to get the radiator support out? Do I need to remove some fenders, headlights, bumper?

Yes you have to take it all off.
I just bough a 1995 F150 and striped it down to nothing, it is on the trailer getting ready to go to the shredder, It does have a strait body with little rust and no dents but do not need it. Just needed the hood, bumper and some grill parts off of it.
So if you need some photos of the front end to see what you may be getting into I can send them to you.

Yes absolutely. I am sort of annoyed with myself, I recently have redone my entire front end i.e: new bumper, headlights, grille, so this entire area had been previously exposed to do such a job, but its the last thing on the truck that needs to be replaced so I am excited to start in on it, and yes, photos would be great! Thanks!

I know its off topic but I need a set of fenders. I cant PM you subford. Are they good? Send me a PM or something lol. Thanks. Yea that rad support is alot of work. Mine is all rotted out also but its still there and it can hold my weight when im up on it so its going to stay untill I do something that will make it worth my while to do it.

I guess it is because I have not made enough posts yet.
You could email me.
They have a little rust at the bottom just infront of the doors on each side but could be fixed if one was so inclined.
You did notice that I am in northeast Kansas and I am sure you could find some closer to NJ.

I was able to replace the rad support on my '94 without having to take the fenders off... I removed the bumper and filler panel and did it from there without removing the radiator, ac condensor and trans cooler either. Doon't forget that the rad support has those "wings" that actually connect to the fenders behind the headlight buckets that can be unbolted separately. That's what I did - took all of a couple hours to do it with hand tools.
