I think running boards protect even better but the tubes have a much sportier look to them. make sure you have good mudflaps - the heavier ones are quite expensive but they stay in place better rather than fold back in the wind. I had those expensive Cloud Riders put on mine and 210000 kms later they still look good. There are some a bit cheaper available with the stainless inserts like I have but have the FORD oval (I think its in black). They look good and I thiink they are the right price point for looks/value/price.
the ones with the oval are 112/pr opposed to 180/pr here in town. i've been eyeing them both up and i think the 112 are a better value. they're pretty much the same except for the oval vs. writing.
