well i scored a couple of decent deals... got my tonneau, a truxedo truxsport...not the best maybe, but the price was awesome!! i also got a set of tube style running boards... turns out my friend in town here can get the bushwacker flares cheaper than tiger would sell them for.
well, i got a smoking deal that i won't tell in fear of screwing my opportunity, but the regular price for it was 313 and i didn't pay near that. even the regular price isn't too bad. i'll post some pics when i get my tube bars on.
Im not sure what the average price is on those covers. The one i was looking at looked much more fancy, and they said it was listed at 400 bucks when I called em. They did have different models and whatnot too.
for me, the price was the determining factor, but there are some differences... the lopro sits between the box sides, thus being lower, but you lose some width on the box--truxsport sits on top. the lopro has quick clamps for fast/lazy connection--truxsport has bold down clamps similar to topper clamps. the lopro has one lever to unlock the tonneau--truxsport has one on each side.
the lopro is the truxsport made a little sleeker and convenient, but the price difference-over 200 bucks- tells me that i'm not too lazy to turn a bolt or click 2 locks...
For 200 bucks, if those ar the few minor differences, it does seem like alot better of a deal.
Is it held along the sides of the box with velcro? How is the one half of the velcro(if it is velcro) held onto the edge of the box?
The whole velcro thing is the part I would be worried about. I would figure that the dust from the gravel out here might take away from the "velcroiness".
if you check out the truxedo website, it shows the cover better than i could describe. basically, the velcro(hook side) is on rails which clamp to the truck box. the loop side is on the fabric, as well as the cross braces which roll up with the cover. i find that the differences are mostly of convenience... thats what people want nowadays...
