My wife pulled out of the driveway this morning with my truck. She's heading out to pick up the trailer with the skidsteer and drop it off at a jobsite. Normally I'm the one doing it, but this time she's going.
Dammit I'm nervous now. I know she used to own a Superduty years ago, and towed with it. But she's never towed with my truck.... and.... well..... it's my truck!!!!!
Man, I feel you pain from here. I make mine tow the camper every now and then with me in the truck, just in case the time comes she has to. It's a little early for a drink, but these are special times.
Back story first: I bought a new brake controller recently, the P3, and she's never used it before. So this morning I specifically told her to not touch ANY BUTTON except for the top right to adjust the boost.
So what was the phone call about??? "Hey, what do these numbers mean. I keep pressing the arrow buttons and the numbers go up and down."
OMG, I HAD MY BRAKE CONTROLLER SET PERFECTLY, AND NOW IT'S OFF!!!!!
Man, I know whats its like to not have the controler not set right. Not enough braking, the truck is one bucking machine with the ABS on these things. Hope she keeps it under control. Too much brake is better then not enough.
My wife makes me nervous every time she drives mine. She grabs the steering wheel and 10 & 2, acts like she's rev'ing a motor cycle with both hands, and says "VROOOOOM-VROOOOM!!!!". Scares the crap out of me!!!
Curtis what was you thinking, now your going to have to readjust everthing in the truck if it makes it back home. My wife worries me when she takes it out it always comes back with a quarter of take of fuel gone and the F5 in 140 aggressive.
Curtis, I hope you wrote down all your settings and can talk your wife through the re-adjustments.
I know how you feel, though, because my oldest son had to leave his Jetta TDI here in Birmingham on Sunday evening when he left for college in Auburn, and the only option was for him to take my truck. The fun of driving his Jetta does NOT offset the COMFORT of knowing where and how my truck is - EXACTLY - because I'm the one driving it. Hopefully, I'll be getting mine back from him on Saturday afternoon!
