I should probably know this at my age but what are the symptoms of a bad ball joint? When I had my tires replaced recently the shop said one of the joints on the passenger side was going bad. Not sure what to look for in driveability issues.

Does the truck wander badly on the freeway? Mine did.

Any popping noises from the front end?

 

Sorry about the delay. Left work shortly after posting. Finally got back on. Wanders some but not terrible. No popping.

 

It can also cause cupping of the tire. That's what mine was doing. Also steers much easier now with new ball joints that can take grease.

 

Guess I will need to look into doing this soon. Steering is kind of jerky sometimes. Kind of like a delayed reaction after turning the wheel a bit.
