I thought this would be a good one to start. Post away with some 'feel good' stories about driving experiences with your vehicles!
On Sunday afternoon I did a Spadina run with the old Superduty 'farm truck'! Since it was polished all the black looks blacker, the chrome looks shinier, and all the other detailing like tires, mudflaps, box liner, painting visible frame areas and inside wheel wells was worth it. This is not the vehicle to use when you want to fly under the radar. The old 6.0 running sweet like only a 475 or 500 hp diesel can run and the exhaust growling with the Sirius tunes pounding - it was all good!!!
Here is a copy of my original post that made me think of starting this thread. I hope you all participate but I hope this doesnt turn into talk of driving with reckless abandon and disregard for public safety.

Here is a story for you. On the way back yesterday afternoon on Hwy 5 east of Stoon I was settled in at 120 or so and noticed a truck in my rearview mirror. I was just winding down from my trip with only a half hour left and didnt feel like playing. He passed and it was a nice truck - a Chevy 4x4 with aftermarket tires, rims, and exhaust. There is a stretch on that road where passing is tough and I caught back up with him. I piggybacked him as he passed some vehicles and he held it at his 160 cutout to try to stretch things out. I reeled him in nicely (to say the least when you are going 50 kph faster than he was). He looked into his mirror and threw his hands up in the air. I passed him and put a mile or so between us in no time and he was holding his 160 speed. I backed down to 140 or so and he stayed behind. At the junction he stopped me and asked WTF kind of setup I was running. I told him that it was just a big work truck and that he should fix his top end problem!
This was the good part. On the way to Calgary I found out that that little Mercedes logo usually can be associated with some speed and money because this guy was flying and I mean flying! Not sure what model it was but it was a sportier looking version - did I mention it was going fast??
I havent been able to enjoy my truck for a week now, it sucks.
May sound cheesy but everytime I drive it I cant get enough of it. The power, economy and the general feel of the truck is simply great. Cant wait to mod it and get even more of that raw power that a diesel is capable of.
Just after I got the alignment done on the truck, took it out for a little run, it was sunny and warm (the one day 'peg summer), with the exhaust out the side, the new tires (did I mention the new tires are on???!!!) growling on the roadway, I was noticing that more than a few trucks/cars were slowing down and really looking at the crew cab. One Sidekick/Tracker passed, slowed down, and the driver practically got into the passenger seat to look!!!! Then I was parked in the local Walmart lot, near a 2nd gen Cummins, and a F250 SD powerstroke, both dressed with wheels, tires, and the like; well couple of guys walked by the other two trucks and had a gander at mine!! Yeah, it was a good day!!
theres nothing quite like going driving in the 86 on a weekend afternoon laying back in the bench seat going 120 on the highway listening to interstate love song by the stone temple pilots, makes you feel like nothing really matters
i could go on forever... best one yet was taking off on our holidays last fall... '02 supercrew loaded down, pipes reverberating off the dirtbikes... and then a '08 F450 towing a tripple axle toy hauler camper trailer passes me on a 7% grade just like i was stopped... sure i got passed, but what a sweet moment...
Well everytime I drive er I enjoy it nothing like on a nice sunny warm day with the windows down exhaust is barkin and the music crankin whether Im driving normal or giving the ol girl a chance to stretch er legs and have a little fun
I have some great memories of my vehicles, from my first drive in Dad`s 53 F350 and my first 65 Mustang coupe.
After that there were many Ford and Mercury 100`s, 250`s, 350`s plus Galaxies, Fairlanes, Thunder Birds, a Torino Cobra or two and Lincolns.
My first ride in my first car a 51 Ford Sedan, hot sunny day, blue sky, dirt road and the rumble of the flat head 8. I will never forget that ride, and there has been lots of good ones since.
i gotta agree with that one, my first ride in my first vehicle... which just so happens to still be my vehicle. i still remember opening the 86 up on the highway for the first time, half in love and half afraid it was going to blow up.
I've had a few glances and questions about the ol' PSD. Even though she's not much to look at. My boat, on the other hand, gets looks and comments every single time she's on the water, or even in public on the trailer. Every time. That feels great.
