Some of the factory stereos are getting pretty good - at least for my taste. The Mustang has an upgraded system available with a sub and so does the new Chevy truck with a GM Bose system. The Bose system in Mom and Dad's Envoy is damn good.
Any of you guys remember the stock dodge stereos in the early 90's?
My grandpa bought his 92 dakota brand new, and the stock stereo just THUMPED!
Now a days they make em pretty good yes, but there is always room for improvement, IF your a stereo kinda guy.
they were quick when they ran due to the power/weight ratio... put a 4.6 in a ranger and you'd have a quick little package too, not to mention a helluva lot more reliable!!
Ya know, I wouldnt mind a 5 liter in a ranger either.
But I did have that 4.6 liter and that was one hell of a tough little engine. The best part about it, it still had decent enough power, and It was great on fuel. That was also in a suprcab shortbox 4x4.
Now picture that 4.6, with a manual tranny, in a light ranger.
Ya get the power, speed, still a fairly light engine/combo, and ya get good economy!
I cant hack on a 5 liter though, each one I have had have been pretty good little engines. Not quite as much power as a 4.6 though.

Are you serious are you talking about the 5.0l truck engines or the 5.0l car engines
