I got a new to me. 2000 f250 superduty, it has all the nessary trailer connections in the rear of the truck however I cant seem to find the wireing to connect the brake controller under the dash. can anyone get me close ?
this truck already had everything, except the controller looks like someone took the controller out, I found 5 wires hanging red black blue white and blue with red stripe.
I connected the controller to these wires and nothing, I then tested for hot and nothing.
I used to own a '99 that did have most of the harness straight from the factory, but it still required more than just a brake controller. If I remember correctly, it had some small square modules or relays that were provided, but had to be plugged into a box under the hood.
I bought a harness adapter for $19 that pugged into a connector under the dash. Wired my controller to the harness and I had electric brakes. simple as that.
