[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Jun-02 AT 10:36 PM (EST)]Is there anything that can be done to make dash lights brighter?I have a 79F100 and the dash lights work ok i would just like a little more lumination.
Any input on this would be greatly apreciated thanks.
If the bulbs are getting the actual alternator voltage, perhaps a different bulb may be available. Not familiar with your dash, but may be possible to add a couple more bulbs. I would check the voltage first though, sometimes the dimmer acts up.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Jun-02 AT 02:52 PM (EST)]Thanks dennis i'm gonna look into removing the blue covers also a friend of mine was telling me of some sorta high intensity bulb for the instrument panel i'll have to look into that as well.My wife tell's me i'm getting old and can't see that well (they look fine to her)she thinks it's another reason to spend money on the truck
I did both things, replaced the stock inst panel bulbs with brighter ones (about $7 each at Kragens, found them in same section), then I removed the blue caps and it made a huge difference.
I also painted the inside of the cluster with reflective silver paint.
Be careful with that plastic cluster and lens, then can crack pretty easy.
I also got some clear plastic and made a new lens because the old one had too many scratches, now it looks better than new.
