With fuel prices where they are, a person can make a payment on a fuel efficient vehicle and save their main ride for special use!

You got er. Its really worth it if you can actually make use out of a second vehicle too. Lke if your a family that only has one vehicle. Get yourself a little fuel effiecient car, then save the big ol truck for the fun times

nope, i did the math on that... doesn't quite work like i'd have thought it would. basically you have to take into consideration that the efficient vehicle will be burning fuel as well, costing more for plates, plus the payment. in the best case you might break even, but you'll rarely come out ahead by doing that.

Sherm, it depends how many miles you drive in a year and what the vehicle that you are saving miles off of is. I need a big truck for work because a gas half ton wont cut it; therefore I am keeping miles off a $60000 truck and extending its life - I make 40000 kms / year! My truck rolls on $1600 worth of tires as well.

if your 60g truck is paid for then it'll be worth while, but if you're still making payments on it, payments on an econobox, and fuel for both... it doesn't quite work out. i know what you're getting at though, i've done the figuring many times!! i never have a 60g figure to work with though... thats more than i paid for my house

Amazing! I wish I could have gotten my land and a house for the price of a new truck!

it all depends on the truck Prep... i imagine a new pete fully decked out would be worth a bit more than your land and an average home...

Not now a days. Even with the mobile home we have out here (we upgraded the whole damn thing) and all the services, with the two quarters, she would have to be a couple of peterbilts!

Hmmm life on the road in a new pete... theres something to think bout!
