No backup Lights

No backup Lights
I own a F150 1992 Automatic Transmission coming with towing package. The Backup lights are not working, obviously bulbs are Ok.
Can anyone give me some hints where to check?

No backup Lights
If you have a E40D automatic the backup light switch is part of the manual lever position sesnors mounted on the transmission. If you have a C6 or AOD transmission the backup light switch is part of the park/neutral switch also on the transmission. I would check there if your fuses are good.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jul-02 AT 11:02 AM (EST)]To check either one of those switches, put transmission in reverse. With truck engine off of course. Put key in run position and check for 12VDC at back up light. If no voltage is there than trace the wires back and check at the next available place and so on an so forth. If you do have voltage there than check your ground connection, ensure the area it is attached to is clean and paint free.
