frame specs

Hey guys, I tried over on the 67-72 forum, but go no response. I know all about the problems with swapping frames, both of my trucks are in a storage garage right now so I don't have either of them available for reference. I have a 58 and a 68. If it fits, I would like to swap the 58 tin on the 68 frame. How wide is the 68 frame from rail to rail. I can shorten it if I need to, no problem. But if it's too wide, I guess it's too wide. I have a buddy that's interested in the 68, but I don't want to get rid of it if I can use it. Thanks, John

frames should be the same width as the rear ends swap between the trucks no problem. i suspect the front track width should be the same also.

now as far as body mounts and frame shape, that i don't know how close they are. might have to do some fab work to get the 58 to fit on the 68 frame.

Thanks Mike, I figured the mounts would be slightly different, but workable.
