This will sound like a stupid question but what good is logging into that site? Does Ford log all my oil changes and etc for warranty purposes in the future? I'm just trying to figure out if I really need to spend that type of money at Ford or if doing it myself would be ok.

Every service item they do is tracked. By law you do not need to have the work performed at a Ford dealer but for the warranty to be in place you need to make sure you notify them of your oil changes, filter changes, etc. Just make sure you do the maintenance schedule in your manual and you will be fine along with notifying them so they can log you did the routine maintenance yourself so your warranty will not be affected.

I read about doing a water seperation every month or so. Is that actually required or should it only been done when instructed by the console.

You have to do your maintenance the way you want. I have always changed out my fuel filters every 15000 or every other oil change along with the air filter. I have not done one on this yet though so it is a little over due.

I went to "My Ford.com" and set up my maitenance items there. Everything related to warranty I log in there under the maintenace heading. Makes it easy, just keep your receipts for parts and oil.

Just do it once a month if rig's in regular use. Takes only a minute. Yellow hose under drivers side of cab
