Hybrid A/C Performance
However, with our Hybrid the correlation is with vehicle movement! No kidding, we stop at a red light, the engine is still running but the air flow fairly quickly changes from cool to "medium". Given the hot weather of late one can get pretty uncomfortable at just one light. If you have a series of red lights you have to give up on the A/C and put the windows down. Same result Max A/C or not. Anyone else dealing with this!
Thanks!
I don't use the a/c very often but when I do, I use it on the gas saving mode that allows the gas engine to shut off. On the rare days that is is brutal hot here I will use the "red" setting (MAX A/C) and both of mine stay very cold in this setting.
A couple possibilties are your a/c needs charging or you have a dirty cabin air filter. There were some issues with the early hybrids losing a/c charge at low miles but I don't know if that issue existed in the '07. Also, unless you put a cabin air filter in, yours isn't dirty since they didn't come with one installed.
It might be worth having the dealer check your a/c system out since the a/c also has cooling lines that run to the back and keep your high voltage battery pack nice and cool.
Good luck.
