Having to do a rather custom a/c system on my 74/88 hybrid.
My truck had factory A/C but the new fuel injection intake is too big to install the factory evaporator housing. So I finally got my hands on a dealer air package to install completely inside the cab.
Got my hands on a set of 1988 compressor mounting brackets. Rockauto shows two different compressors for 88. one a SD709 (for dealer air) and a E6DH for factory air. The mounting configuration appears the same from the pictures can anybody confirm this? hose ends etc dont really matter will have to have custom hoses made any way.
Where does the bracket mount and where does the compressor mount to the bracket? My '86 has it above the PS pump and uses the same compressor as my old '82 F250 w/ a V8 used. I have a leftover, never mounted compressor sitting around I'd practically give away if it would work for you.
Great Illustrations thanks a lot! Looks like i have the factory brackets, mounting below the power steering pump. Only difference is mine has two plate adapters between the compressor and the aluminum mount. Looks like i'll need a E6DH version pump. Thanks Baron looks like mine is different, appreciate the offer though.
Next I need to get a patch panel cut out of a non factory a/c donor rig so I can plug the huge hole in the firewall where My evaporator housing mounted.
I'll try and snap some photos.
