Trying to remove my 3" down pipe to replace with 4". Having trouble disconnecting clamp at turbo end. Loosened the nut it but the clamp won't loosen. It a tough spot to reach to get leverage. Any tricks on this? Thanks for any advice.

Soak it, soak it, soak it, then, incase I didnt say it, soak it. Kroil, or WD-40, PB blaster, ect.
mine just fell off...lol im doing up pipes right now...you may need to use a screw driver and pry it out....some times thay are a b*&ch...just like Pat said...soak it,soak and soak it some more...i use PB Blast..far better the WD..
Get someone under the truck to move the down pipe forward and back as you try to remove the clamp. Make sure the clamp bolt is completly unthreaded first.
Thanks guys. Soaked it....banged on it and it came off. I was just too cautious...but I've broken...screwed up too many things without asking or reading directions first! Now I'm working with Mr. Sawzall...which I should have done first. I'm always fearful of cutting something then finding out the new pipes don't fit for some lame reason. Ciao!
When I was removing my old system, I had to cut one of the hangers off the back pipe because it didn't want to pull out of the rubber grommets. The install of the new system is a piece of cake once you get the new downpipe on.
When You Add The New System Be Careful How You Position The Downpipe So It Dosnt Rub The Floorboard. If You Can Get Help Have Someone Hold The Down Pipe In Position So You Can Seat The Clamp. I Did Not Have Any Help And It Made Taking It Off Seem Easy. I Pushed A 2x4 Between The Two And Then Tightened Up The Turbo Clamp.
I spent more time monkeyn around trying to get the new 4" downpipe on my truck then what it took me to get the old system off and the rest of the new system on!
Too funny. The downpipe was the easiest for me but linining it all up was a PITA and took me forever! I stil don't like the hangers that came with the system. I might take it to a muffler shop just to ensure it is all secure. Took me all day!
I just did mine this week. I had the same problem with the down pipe. Stuck a bar into the cut off part and "wiggled" it free. My system only took an hour to put on......thanks to the lift.
