Help a newbie please. How do you remove the y pipe from the turbo. There is a band clamp that i loosened but it is very firmly on there. Is there a trick to it. Thanks. Replacing that fuel line on that side
Any band clamp usually has a pretty good grip on the flanges from being installed. Usually the easiest way is to use a flat blade (common) screwdriver to get a little wedge action going. Then you can tap around the clamp and it will usually start letting go. Just take your time and use something to get under the gaps.
John, I googled and found this for ya. It looks like you got everything off from what you told me. If you need any pics of my spare motor, just give me a call.
Diconnect it at the turbo (v-band clamp) on edit:I forgot to say...do this last, and don't lose the o-ring.
Disconnect the IC tubes (blue or black boots)
Disconnect the intake boots going to the intake plenums (orange)
Remove wire from AIH
Remove AIH sensor (wire clip)
Remove MAP line
Remove wastegate line (red)
I think that's it. Thats all I can remember. It's easy, it comes out in a matter of minutes. Clean it up good, do a CCV reroute while youre in there to keep it clean and spray a little hairspray on the spider where the boots go on. It will help keep them from blowing off
I just replaced my o-rings on the turbo and pedestal, and the way i did it, was to remove the "T" bolt completely, then work a flathead around the clamp.
Hey Frank, Its cool. I kinda like the adventure. I think Im going to do the boots, frx, aih delete, flush rad and put the around the belt hose on while I am at it. What takes you to Texas?

I'll be building an artificial reef. I have 2000 modular concrete reef ball units to pour. 2/1/2 to 3 months in Baytown just outside Houston. Then I'll be back.
Thats them stacked behind my truck. They're everywhere is Sarasota.
