Heys guys new with ford truck been dodge boy hole life but the wife has a 76 f150 ranger 4x4 390 ford 9" rear, high pinion 44 front, c6, crappy 203 transfer case, 390, short box. i am going to be restoring it, i need to now if ford made a c6 mated to a 205 transfercase i would like to make it a little stronger no bigger tires than 35s a basic high power pavement pounder thats gets it done. Any help would be greatly helpfull

Yup, UTfball is right on the money with that one...My 79 came with a C6 mated to a 205, but was a 400 plant. Now, if you went with a 429/460, I think you'd be able to bolt it up, but the FE needs the different pattern.
i recommend that you get the Tcase, adapter, and driveshafts all from one truck...and make sure you get it from one with the same size adapter as you have now, or you will have to tear down your tranny and change tailshafts....i just went and bought a 205 to replace my 203, now im having driveshaft length and clearance issues, and i wish i bought the whole setup....all i can say is look and measure EVERYTHING before you buy, its worth the time and money.....
