whats this part called?!

its the small rectangular plate with the banding that wraps around the rear axle, the whole unit being welded onto the axle housing.... the leaf springs rest on top of it and it has a receiver hole that the leaf spring slots into...whats the darn thing called?

I would say spring perch too and the bands being u-bolts. Reverse oil modulator is a good guess too LOL

Spring Perch. Local spring shop's manager told me a while ago it's a common repair job on rusty axles.

Generally by the time you need a double vertex reverse oil modulator, you may need new muffler bearings and should replace your blinker fluid. All you need to install the muffler bearings is a metric crescent wrench and a pipe stretcher.
