I'd love to have a ZF tranny behind this, but one of the reasons why I bought an auto is for my family to drive. Plus...there's no way I could shift as fast as this auto, lol. It is fun to drive a manual around, but I couldn't ever let my mom or sister drive this thing, they would rip the guts out of it in the first 10 minutes.

That is why you drive an old vehicle, to improve upon what gets torn up until it was 1k lbs more than factory, can climb cliffs, and make a good camp dinner at the end of the day.

Thread revival! I was doing a search on the "F4TE" roller block, and came across this:

I find it interesting that the carbureted 1980s 351 "HO" would "spank" the newer motor! Are you saying that the 351 "HO" cam was a better performer than the newer roller "F4TE" cam? If so, why is it that Ford couldn't/wouldn't improve performance with EFI and their roller cams in the 1990s?

Conanski, do you or anyone else here know what the cam specs were on the 1980s 351 "HO" motor was?
