Very handy! After reading 10 pages of "you should" and "don't bother" I figured it can't hurt to sucker that out when I change oil from dino to syn this fall. Thanks for taking the time to write this up.

There you go. That is a very good use for "That Sucker"
Great write up. Do you have to use a glass jar or would it be feasable to use on of the heavy plastic mayo jars? I about have one empty, hafta eat a few more sandwiches. Or would the vacuum be too great and crush it?
Thanks,
Cody

As long as you didn't close off the suction tube, the jar may not collapse. With my glass jar, the metal lid will draw down when the end of my suction tube is restricted. There is a pretty strong vacuum from the truck vacuum pump. I would try to use a glass one, if possible. This way you can see the level in the jar. You don't want to suck any fluids into the truck vacuum reservoir. You need to know how much the jar will safely hold.
Good point, I'll have to look around a little more for a glass jar.
Thanks,
Cody
Cody, I went to a grocery store and bought a case of canning jars for mine. They are made to hold vacuum. I got the larger ones. 10.00 for 12. I have a lot of them to try different ways.

That's kinda what I was thinking of doing. I could use 12, they work good for beer too.

I found a one gallon pickle jar in the pantry this evening. I am going to get the fittings and tubing this weekend to make the "revised version" dubbed the Superduty Sucker. This will be the big brother to That Sucker, with the fittings for use with the truck vacuum pump. I will post a pic of the new version as soon as I get it made.

Dude owns a grain and feed store, and lives in sugarcane country, and I bet he has a few feet of copper tubing......
" I have a lot of them to try different ways" Rick that Corn you sell is for FEED purposes.
