Buying another truck! The VIN on the drivers door and post in the drivers door read F15YRW61290. FTE decoder says F150, 2WD, 360w/ 2bbl. Mfg. in San Jose.
The truck has a ranger emblem on both rear corners of the bed. All the trim and other script is MIA. It is a 4x4, D60 rear, D44 open knuckle disc front, NP205 t-case, NP435 trans, with a 352? The GAWR I didnt write down from the sticker, but I am positive one or the other of them was 6000+ pounds? It looks all factory and never had the dreaded PO mods most of these rigs have. I just cant believe all this was swapped in and it looks like it was done right. Any body have any thoughts or comments?
Probly just a door or two or even the cab. Just cause it aint factory dont mean it cant look good. mine has the right doors and they look like crap. Its also not that hard to set fender gaps and such.
It's probably not a 352. 352 was stamped on some of the FE blocks from one of the foundries or something like that. It's most likely a 360, but, there's no way to tell exactly which FE motor you have, unless you measure the stroke and bore. Theres a whole lot of folks on here that are like Ford wikipedias, maybe one of them will step in and narrow it down for you.

The truck has a ranger emblem on both rear corners of the bed. The only way to ID if it's a Ranger or not is by the BODY code, which is listed separately on the Warranty Plate.

F15YRW61290 = the 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog sez:
F15 = F1502WD
Y = 360 2V
R = San Jose Assembly Plant
W61290 = 1975
Compare the VIN located on the left door Warranty Plate with the VIN on the registration.
Ppl changed left doors due to accidents and forgot to swap over the original Warranty Plate.
If the VIN does not match, the door has been changed. The doors are the same: 1973/79.
If the VINdoes match, this truck is a Frankenstein monster (conversion by some previous owner).
If this truck is a 1975, the disc brakes have been added. No disc brakes were factory installed till 1976 on F150/250 4WD's.
The only V8 offered 1973/76 in F100/250's w/4WD is the 360.
No 352's were factory installed after 1967.
After 1967, the only rear axle used on F100/150's w/4WD is the Ford 9 inch.
1968/79 F100/150 4WD's did not come from the factory with a Dana 60 rear end.
The Dana 60 has 8 lug 16" wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle.
The whole cab must have been swapped over? The plastic sticker is still in the door jamb and it matches the the metal one on the door. I need to go back today and I will take some more notes from the vinyl sticker . Then I may have some questions or answers.

The cab might have been swapped, or the 2WD truck has been converted over to 4WD.
I'd be very wary of purchasing someone else's Frankenstein Monster (conversion). One never knows the quality of the workmanship performed!
