Ok, I was moving along at a pretty good clip today when I ran directly into a brick wall.
I have my moveable quarter windows back from the tinter, I have the latch bolts back from the powdercoater, I have brand spankin new hinge cups that pop into the body, and I even found a couple of the plastic washers that insulate the window from the latch bolt...however...where in the heck can I find a set of the hinge pins that go inside the hinge cups?
I can already tell that these are necessary, otherwise the windows will pull out too easily. If anyone can lead me in the right direction on this one, I'd appreciate it.
Without you seeing the parts catalog diagram, it's hard for me to determine what you want.
On the front side there are two rectangular shaped quarter window hinge retainers (D5FZ73302A12A) that pins (385350S) fit into.
These are the exact same parts that the 1973/80 Pinto/Bobcat station wagons used on its quarter windows.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then there are quarter window latch pins (DODZ6230330A -1/2" long) or (DODZ6230330B -3/4" long).
These latch pins are the same as 1970/77 Maverick/Comet 2 door / 1974/78 Mustang II Fastback / 1971/80 Pinto 2 door sedans used on their quarter windows.
greensalescompany.com has 10 each of either length in stock: 800-543-4959
OK, ok, ok...yes, I'm talking about the plastic hinge retainers that press into the slots on the exterior of the cab. I know, I wasn't using the proper Ford terminology, but was "hinge cup" really that far of a logical leap to determine that that was what I was referring to? (Although the more I say "hinge cup", the weirder it sounds)
Anyway, yes, you're right. I'm speaking about the hinge retainers and the associated pins. You didn't say if Greensalescompany had any of the 385350S pins in stock...I'll give them a call on Monday to find out.
Wellllll, that puts a damper in my day...guess I'm going to have to improvise a solution. Should be easy enough with either a proper diameter nail or piece of steel rod, my dremel, and a cutoff wheel.

Thanks for checking.
Dunno how many Pinto wagons there might be in junkyards, but the pins are the same...
That'd be a big 'ol goose egg...with the price of metal these days, most yards are crushing any cars that are older than 10 years for the cash. I haven't seen a pinto wagon in a yard in a lonnnnnnnnnnnng time. Hell, even at the yard I go to most, they only have one 73-79 truck on the lot. Pretty much everything else is 95 and newer. I did, however, luck out and found a 90 Ford Econoline van at a different yard, that had the pop out windows. The latch mechanisms are different, but the plastic washers that insulate the bolt from the glass itself are the same as my 79...so I used those. Worked like a champ.
I'll figure out a pin replacement...just will take some snooping at the hardware store.
FOUND 385350S = GreenSalesdoes have them: 800-543-4959
I typed that part number into their website two days ago, it showed zero, so I called them a few minutes ago to ask them to run the number on an obsolete parts website I don't have access to.
You are right sir! just bought a package of 20 from henry's parts depot figured I might as well buy all of them.Carpenter told me they didn't have any, when i bought my hinges about 2 to 3 weeks ago! but again as always your here to save the day!!!! many thanks for your expertise
