Ride Quality

i went and test drive a 01 f350 long bed 7.3 120k 4x4 6 speed the other day an that thing rode so smooth no matter what i drove over it was nice and my 02 f250 reg. cab long bed 5.4 140k 4x4 and it rides like a tank i can feel even the smallest crack in the road and it bounces from side to side when i hit a bump put new front shock and ball joints, front aliniment and still doesnt ride like the other one? what can i do? or is it just because of its long wheelbase that helps it? thanks

the 7.3 weighs alot more than your 5.4. all that weight makes it ride smother. plus it depends what springs you have. if you have a plow package on it then it will have stiffer springs. camper package will also give you stiffer springs. if the 7.3 don't have either of the those, and your 5.4 does then it would be a big diff.

what about tire/wheel combination. if your 5.4 has 20" rims and low pro tires and the other truck has 16" rims with 35" tires you would notice a big difference. although i agree that it is probably a weight/length issue.

Buddy has an 04 350 dump ext cab that rides WAY better than my old 04 350 pickup did. It's the weight.
