I've got a '76 F250 Camper Special 2wd. The turn signals don't work with the running lights on. I've replaced the headlight switch, the flasher, two bad sockets and all of the bulbs. I've also checked the grounds at the sockets and all are good. All other bulbs work. The blinkers work fine with the lights off, but as soon as I turn the running lights/headlights on they quit flashing. Am I missing a relay or something? ANY input greatly appreciated!
When you operate the turn signal switch, does the lamp light but just not flash? If so compare the voltage at the input to the flasher with and without the headlights on.
Thanks Sparky - I've checked all the grounds and am reasonably sure they're operable. Could the two circuits (running lights & blinkers) be shorting together when the running lights are on?
The running lights use 1 filament in the bulb and the flashers the other one. The common point is the ground, each filament uses the same ground at the bulb socket.
When you turn on the lights with the turn signals off does either of the dash turn indicators glow or lite up?
