NP205 stupid question

so truck is great..just a stupid question...
I get a buzz/vibration runnin at about 70mph from the transfercase shift lever, if you hold it is gone...faster/slower it is gone...this is prob just some harmonics..but after runnin it a while the lever is also warm to the touch..not hot..prob about my body temp or bit more...is this a sign of impending doom? fluid is normal color and full and clean, no leaks..thanks

Get a bungee cord and hook it to your linkage rod and the other end to the frame or something so there is a little tension on it. That should quiet it down some. If you dont have any metal flakes in the oil and it looks good dont worry about it. If it blows up then you will know where the noise was coming from. lol If its really bothering and you have never been through it put a set of bearings in it.

check the bushing on the shifter mount, sometimes they wear out and makes the lever move around, might heat it up a little.

Check the output bearing on the transmission. When you put it in top gear it unloads the output bearing of the transmission causing it to vibrate, which usually goes to the t-case causing the shifter to rattle.
