Well i jsut got the highboy home and i noticed something. The guy told me it had a 390 in it. He dont know much about fords so he was just relaying info from the PO. I know ifits a 390 its been swapped in cause highboys never had 390s. Now for my question. On the front of the block under the left head is the number 352. Its cast into the block. Does this by chance mean my motor is a 352? If it is its the best runnin 352 ive ever seen. Truck has a 4sp and a posi rear. It lit up both 35s on the back with no prob. Just wondering if that cast ment anything.
Almost all the FE blocks (352,360,390,406,410,427 and 428) have the 352 on them. Lighting up tires on a pickup has more to do with very little weight in the rear than horsepower.
Well its pretty heavy. Its got a 9 ft flatbed. Its framed out of 2x4 box tubing and decked with 1/4 in plate. Its got a decent sized headache rack and its got 8 ft weather gaurd tool boxes on both sides.
