Hey all,
I am wondering. I put a cold air intake with K&N filter on my truck and there is a sensor in the air box. What is it for and should I incorporate it into the intake pipe? I know that it throws a trouble code when not plugged in but does not seem to affect performance at all. Just for extra info it is a F-250 powerstroke with an Edge Evolution programmer, aftermarket down pipe, and straight piped exhaust. Also boost and egt gauges. everything else is factory. Any help is greatly appreciated.
i'll be the first one to tell you that the k and n is not a good idea. if you decide to keep it then keep a VERY close eye for dirt in the intake tube.
the sensor is intake air temp. its sole use is for exhaust backpressure function. just tuck it inside the square hole in the inner fender
use the napa part number 6637 air filter i think the wix part number is 56637 don't use a k@n they will dust these engines/turbo's, you can search this for for 6637 filter mod alot of people here have done it. as far as the sensor just shove it in the hole in the fender, its an air temp sensor mainly used for the ebpv valve that most people disconnect anyways.
