I have a 2000 E250 Regency Conversion. It's only got 68k on the clock and we use it on a very limited basis, towing, hauling people, etc. The conversion company put a set of 16 inch aluminum wheels on it and while they are attractive wheels, they are raw aluminum and look like crap. I've tried all kinds of wheel cleaners, including an acid based cleaner (which turns them a ghostly white), but they always look bad. I'm wondering what current or recent Ford product I could scavenge wheels off of to put on the van and dress it up? I've got a great set of tires so I'd like to keep it on 16's...... Any ideas?
have them polished, chromed, iodinized (spelling) or maybe powder coated? other alternative is visit a van customizer, they will know the correct rim back spacing for your van and can order you a custom set of rims. Or you could visit a wrecking yard that specializes in vans..
i would check the close to same year F250 OR F350 because all the vans we deal on the sears service vans run the same rims as the truck. i found that out after having to replace a few rims after some of the drivers got off highway driving in the winter. 75mph side ways into the ditchs bends rims
so check 1999 to 2004 is when ford was still using 16 on trucks. in 2005 is when the 17 came norm for the ford trucks.
you could also check up to 2008 on the ford vans because our 2008 just got new set of tires and it had 16 on it from ford.
just make sure your van has the flat(nontaperd) lug nuts and the new rims are for those too.
