Hey guys I have 76 F-150 std cab... just wondering what would be some ideas for new seating... I currently have a very worn down bench in the cab (school bus type) I like the idea of two buck seats and a center console but I don't know if I could fab up the brackets to make it bolt in the original spots... any ideas would be great!
Cause I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to use like the stock bench seat brackets.. so i could just bolt it all in or something. Unless there is a set of seats that bolt in from a different vehical?
I'm not intending to squash your thread but I just did a search for "bucket seats" and got lots of hits in many different threads. It seems its been discussed quite a bit. Here is a link to pretty good thread that contains links to other similar threads.
How about buckets that operate like the handicap vans (seat comes straight out, turns, and drops down to sit in). It'd be hard to do, but definitely worth it.
But seriously, buckets all the way. I'm thinking of using some made for a Honda Prelude (because they're the only ones I've looked for so far and they come in extra wide for extra comfort). And you gotta have a cup holder.
It would seem to make sense that a pair of factory buckets and the factory console out of a '78 or '79 Bronco would be a natural fit in a '73-'79 std cab, but I thought I read somewhere that they don't fit at all. Can anyone shed any details on this?
From what I understand, the early to mid 90s are almost a bolt in. I myself wanted a newer look. I currently have a 2003 60/40 Lariat leather seat with a fold up console in my 74 (see my gallery for pics). It took a little modification to get it in, but it's freak'n nice to sit on. Gives the truck a whole new ride and look great.
