Engine Not Motor
Internal combustion engines are called just that, Engines, motors are of the electrical type.
Just tired of veterans not commenting on the downgrading of our precious smog slingin, loud roaring, torque monster FE ENGINES.
I love my engine, and would never put a motor in any vehicle I own.
I am curious about one thing you said:
How do you start the truck if the starter motor goes out? You must be a pretty hardy fella to push start the beast.
I'm not so hardy. I'm currently working on putting a set of motors in my new/old Ranger pick-up. If I find another set of power seats with the motor driven air pumps, I'll cob them into my '74 also. They are niiiiiiiice and commmmmfy!

Just yanking your chain Bud...Motor, motor, motor!!!! LMAO
I just had to reply, had a flight instructor one time go all to pieces when I called the engine a motor, it led to a long string about electrical motor, combustion engine, the airplane, oh excuse me the AIRCRAFT ENGINE in the airplane was produced by Continental Motors..Pap
Hint: Signs with the words "motor fuel" in them could be found nearby. (this gives it away methinks...)
Uhh, why didn't I think of this?

A motor vehicle is a machine which incorporates a motor (sometimes known as an engine), and which is used for transportation. The internal combustion engine is the most common motor choice, although electric motors or other types are sometimes used. Land vehicles are usually equipped with wheels, and usually operate on roads.
Some common examples:
an automobile
a truck
a bus
a motorboat
a motorcycle
a motorized bicycle
In most jurisdictions, use of different classes of vehicle is governed by a traffic or highway code which determines amongst other things:
who can drive (typically adults who hold a valid driving license for the class of vehicle)
in what circumstances one can drive (e.g., in possession of insurance, not drunk, etc.)
where a vehicle can and cannot be driven
speed limits
right-of-way
requirement to use specified equipment (motorcycle helmet, safety belt, etc.)
requirements forokto meet standards of safety, to display a license plate, etc.
In the United States, a motor vehicle is "a vehicle, not run on rails, that is designed to be self propelled or propelled by electric power obtained from overhead trolley wires, but does not include a motor assisted cycle."[citation needed]
