Just sick of reading threads with incorrect wordage used. If you are here looking for a solution to your motor problem, you are in the wrong place, FE I have ever see is a Motor.
Internal combustion engines are called just that, Engines, motors are of the electrical type.
Just tired of veterans not commenting on the downgrading of our precious smog slingin, loud roaring, torque monster FE ENGINES.
I love my engine, and would never put a motor in any vehicle I own.
It comes down to not what they are, but more of the definition of the physical function of what a motor/engine does:
I would consider them interchangeable considering both "motor" and "engine" are inclusive in the definition of both words.
Motor: any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion (electrical and internal combustion both fall under this definition)
Engine: a machine for converting any of various forms of energy into mechanical force and motion (again electrical and internal combustion both fall under this definition)
You call it whatever you want, and we will understand what you are talking about. Ironically..."wordage" is not a word, but you used it in your OP to complain about this silly topic.
