I have a buddy that does T shirts.. figured I might get him to knock off a few of those when time & $$ are handy. I'm guessing their a lil nostalgic? and having a fresh one tucked away might be kinda cool.
Ok,, you guys have bashed him enough. He is right.
BTW,,, how many of you have heard someone call their suv a TRUCK?
I have a niece about 40 years old, that should know better, but I can not get her to call her Toyota 4 runner a suv... She calls it her truck.
We can take this a little further and call our Power Stroke Diesels our car.
See were we can take this. His is correct, give him his due.
More irritating verbiage.
Me and him.

Clerks responding to your thank you with "no problem". I wonder what would constitute a problem?
Ok,,, I am off my soap box.
Ok,, you guys have bashed him enough. He is right.
Right how? By what definition? What dictionary makes the distinction between "engine" and "motor" and says that a "motor" is only electric while an internal combustion engine is only an "engine" and never a "motor"?
A "motor" is a machine that imparts motion.
If that's not a piston engine, I don't know what is.
A "motor" includes all machines that impart motion. An "engine" IS a "motor".
It's a completely useless argument.
The term "engine" is more SPECIFIC than the term "motor" when used to describe an internal combustion engine.

But an "engine" is still a "motor".
Every dictionary that I have ever read, says that a motor is a electrical device. An engine is a internal combustion device.
A car "engine" is its powerplant.
If everyone started today and said that the sun was a color green, then after time, people would look up at the sun and say what a beautiful green color. Look at any dictionary of ten years ago, and you will see what I mean. A motor is what you have on your table saw.
People have butchered the English language since the beginning.
Before getting upset, research it out. You will see that the guy is right.
No but that is the name of the company, is it not? I don't recall them makeing garage door openers.
LOL... yep, last time I checked they made cars, truck, vans, etc. Also with those vehicles they came with steering wheels, tires, wheels, seats, glass, engines, headlights, radios, etc.
There is no law against calling an engine a motor or a blade of grass. It is your option to call an engine anything you want. As long as the person you are talking to you understands what you mean, you have successfully conversed.
Language is used to communicate a thought from one person to the next. When you choose to use the wrong word to express yourself, you limit the people that will understand what you meant.
So motor on....
